Getting into Lorcana can feel intimidating: regular new chapters, multiple rarities, fluctuating prices. The good news: you can start a solid collection without spending a fortune, as long as you set a clear goal.
1. Pick a collecting angle
Rather than buying everything, choose a throughline: a favorite character, a single chapter, or only the foil cards. A clear angle prevents impulse buys and gives your collection coherence.
2. Favor displays over single boosters
For the same volume, a display is often cheaper than boosters bought one by one, and guarantees a better spread of rarities. It's the best entry point to build a base quickly.
- Set a monthly budget and stick to it.
- Protect your cards from the moment you open them (sleeves + toploaders).
- Track what you're missing to avoid duplicates.
